Customer-winning copy needs a process
Being a great writer isn’t enough. Copywriting needs laser-like focus. You need to know where your audience’s heads are at, their pain points, what they really want... and of course – how to show them that your products/services offer the transformation they want.
This is the copywriting process I follow to make that happen…
BRIEF ME
Visit my contact page to complete my short project questionnaire form. I’ll review it and send you an email with a link to book a Discovery Call if we look like a good match.
2. Discovery call
We’ll jump on Zoom to talk about:
Your project.
Project research (market research, tone of voice, SEO keywords, etc.).
My services.
Copy deliverable format (how you would like your copy delivered: Google Docs, wireframes, website prototype.).
My copy revisions process.
Project timelines.
Anything else you’d like to talk about.
3. Research + company Insights review
Research plays a huge part in copywriting. I offer project research as a service or we can use your research if you already have it good to go.
Please send me the following for review (if you have them):
Competitor, tone of voice, and SEO keyword research.
Company positioning, tone of voice, branding docs, etc.
Anything else you feel is relevant to your project.
I will review them and follow up with my proposal.

4. Proposal
I’ll send you a short ‘n‘ sweet proposal to review, which will include:
Project objectives.
A list of deliverables.
Project timeline.
A link to book your Kickoff Call (if required).
Your contract and invoices.
50% of payment is required upfront to proceed and the remaining 50% is paid on project completion.
Alternatively, we can work on a milestone basis where each milestone is paid for upfront. (Better suited for big projects.)
5. Kickoff call
We’ll catch up to run through the essentials so I can start writing your copy.
Call agenda:
Review your audience insights report and your project questionnaire.
Complete brand Tone of Voice workshop.
Fine-tune your tone of voice, ready for your first draft.
Note: Kickoff Calls aren’t always required, and the call agenda may look different based on the project’s scope.
6. Copy delivered
I will send you an email featuring:
Your copy in your preferred format
(Google Doc, PDF, or prototype).Your brand Tone of Voice guidelines.
Loom walkthrough video.
7. Revisions
I include 2 rounds of revisions per milestone. Use Google Drive’s comment feature to highlight any copy you’d like me to edit or we can jump on a Zoom to talk about it.
Email me once you and your team have finished leaving comments and I’ll make a round of revisions.
(Revisions must be in line with the scope agreed in the contract.)
8. Good to go!
Once you’re happy with the copy and the remaining 50% of the invoice is paid, the copy is all yours to publish.
There’s also an option to book a Project Review call to go over the work we’ve done.
